今年突如チームKatushaとの契約を解除、ロードレース界から身を引いたトップスプリンターの一人、Marcel Kittel。理由は心身、特に精神面での疲弊。

その31歳のドイツ人は、噂ではオランダチームJumbo-Vismaと契約してプロに復帰というシナリオも報道されてるけど、現状ではそれも不確定。噂されてるほどには本人側は乗り気じゃない？

そんなMarcel Kittelやけど、今週金曜日にツール・ド・フランスにやってくるもよう。ただし、レーサーとしてはではなく、ドイツのTV局のお仕事として。

First time Paris with no bike – just the city, it's monuments and beauty combined with french lifestyle. New experience & I loved every second of it. Got to see the city from its other side without the bike race and the "5 litres of beer in a dark nightclub including headache next morning"-experience. 😜 It was too short to see everything but I'm happy that I could follow the invitation of my friend and cycling enthusiast Werner Küchler and see him again. If he ever writes a book about his life story I will let you know. It's starts with escaping from Germany to Paris with 17 years, having no home and help, and ends with working now for more then 45 years for Hôtel Plaza Athénée, the best hotel in Paris and the world, as restaurant directeur. Listing to what he has to tell is great and inspiring. I hope you guys will meet people like Werner in your life that can share their experiences with you. It's so important to hear their story and learn from it as well. 🙏🏼

あれ？ひょっとしたらこれからは自転車メディアの仕事・ジャーナリストをする可能性が？？今回のこの仕事で好感触を掴んだら、そういう未来もあるね。元トッププロ選手だっただけにプロトンの内情には詳しく、知り合いも多いから取材もしやすいかと。

今回の仕事の内容は不明やけど、まぁ鬱病とかにはなってなさそうやからとりあえずえそれでOK。

なお、ツール第1ステージでJumbo-VismaのMike Teunissenが勝利した日と、第2ステージのチームTTの日には、チームとTony Martinあてにお祝いのメッセージを送ったもよう。
