ビニアム・ギルマイが契約延長

今年の2024ツール・ド・フランスでアフリカ系黒人選手として史上初のポイント賞のマイヨ・ヴェールを獲得とステージ優勝3勝をあげたビニアム・ギルマイが、所属チームであるアンテルマルシェ・ワンティと2028年度までの契約延長を交わした。

ギルマイはこの契約延長のコメントで次のように話す。

“In all circumstances, the team has supported and trusted me, even in the most difficult moments. Intermarché-Wanty remains my favourite team, so extending the adventure for two more years is simply an obvious choice,”

訳「どんな状況でもチームは自分を支え信じてくれた。最も困難なときでもすらそれは変わらなかった。このチームは今も大好き。だからさらに2年間の延長も至極当然の判断。」

“I am convinced that we can still achieve great things together, and I am already looking towards the next goals, starting with the Olympic Games! I am really glad to continue this story with my beloved team.”

訳「チームとともにこれからも偉大な結果を残せると確信してるし、すでに次の目標が楽しみ。今から始まるパリ五輪がその1つ目。本当に嬉しい。こんな素晴らしい物語を愛するチームと続けていけるんだから」

またチームのパフォーマンスマネージャーは、「今後の目標はモニュメントで勝つこと。近いうちにそれができるだろう」と話す。
