Nada grave. ¡Continúen las hostilidades! https://t.co/UnImudgi4W pic.twitter.com/096jVVm2oj — Teledeporte (@teledeporte) August 28, 2024 これはゴールまでまだ92kmある地点での落車映像だ。路肩で落車しているのはチームEFの総合エースのリチャル・カラパスだ。 このときデカトロン勢はメインプロトンから余計な逃げを出させないため、プロトンを管理すべくその最前線に並んで道路幅いっぱいに広がり、後方からのアタックをブロックしようとした。 そのときデカトロンのヴィクトル・ラフェに押されて落車することになったのがカラパスだ。幸いにも低速だったためカラパスは右半身側に多少の傷を負ったものの無事にレースを再開し、すぐにプロトンに戻ることができた。 審判はこのラフェの行為を含めてこうしたブロッキング行為を理由としてデカトロン勢に4枚のイエローカードを出したわけだ。 ベン・オコナーはレース後にチームメイトに出されたこのイエローカードについて怒りを表す投稿をしていたが、その投稿はいつのまにか削除された。冷静になったのだろう。 なおラフェにはイエローカードとともに500スイスフラン（約8万6000円）の罰金も課されている。
