ロード―レース再開は時期尚早

いよいよ本格的なロードレース再開が間近に迫ってきた。ワールドツアーは8/1から再スタートをきることになる。おそらく可能な限り早期の再開となったと思う。

それについて喜ぶ声もあれば、懸念を示す声もある。今回は後者の例として、Deceuninck-QuickStepの名物ボス、パトリック・ルフェーブル（Patrick Lefevere）じーさんと、ロット・ソウダルの選手ヤスパー・デ・ビュイストの懸念を紹介。

ルフェーブルの「ロードレース再開は早すぎるのではないか？」との懸念をさらに強めたスポーツ界全体における大事件が先日発生してしまった。

日本のTVでも報道されて知っているだろうが、テニス界のビッグ4にして世界ランキング1位のノバク・ジョコビッチが新コロ助19に感染したことである。

We appreciate that and we are remaining friends, while hoping that we will make our idea happen, as soon as the conditions allow it”, Djokovic emphasized. ⠀ In the end, Djordje Djokovic reminded that the idea of ​​Adria Tour sports event was of charity nature, with the goal of helping players from the region increase their earnings, supporting charity organizations and promoting good values. ⠀ “We now remain focused on supporting all those who have been infected with the Covid-19, wishing them to recover as soon as possible”, said the Organizing Committee.

ジョコビッチは先日、母国セルビアとクロアチアで自身が主催するチャリティーイベントの「アドリア・ツアー」を開催した。

訪れた観客は4000人。超満員かつ社会的距離もマスクもなし。握手やハグも自由。しかも、選手らが半裸でパーティーに参加など、このご時世にとんでもなく馬鹿げたイベントだった。（参考：ジョコビッチは「どこまで愚かなんだ」　海外から批判殺到「コロナ対策を全て無視」）

さすがに今回ばかりは、普段はゴミみたいな「喝！」ばかりしている張本じーさんの「喝！」も正当である。

この事件が、ルフェーブルじーさんの不安を強くしたのもうなずける。ルフェーブル曰く、「7月からのろーレースだが、その悪夢のシナリオは今回のジョコビッチのテニス大会のようになることや」、そして「感染クラスターの危険性はまだまだある」と。

(2) Lotto Soudalのデ・ビュイストの懸念

さらに、ルフェーブルと同じくロードレースの早すぎる再開に不安を述べるのが、ロット・ソウダルの選手、ヤスパー・デ・ビュイスト（Jasper De Buyst）である。

彼はベルギーメディアのSporzaに対して、次のようなことを述べた。（Sporza：Jasper De Buyst: “In peloton van 150 renners rijd je onvermijdelijk in elkaars snot）

「プロトンは150人の密集地帯。しかも選手の鼻水やツバだらけ。感染しないわけがない。もし不安ならば、もうスタートしないしか選択肢はない」

レース再開後、観客ではなく、プロトン内部で一度でもクラスターが発生してしまえば、もう「再延期」とか議論する余裕はなくなり、完全に今年のロードレースは消滅するのではないか？ツール・ド・フランスも世界選手権も何もかも消えることになることも予想される。

唯一の希望はワクチン開発やけど、どうも今年中は無理っぽい感じがするね。頭のいい人が頑張ってはるんやろうけどね。まぁなかなか難しいね。

さてどうなるやら。
