チームイネオスのベテラン、39歳のクリスティアン・クネース(Christian Knees)が、17年の現役生活に別れを告げた。

西ドイツ生まれのクネースは2010年にはドイツ王者にも輝いた経歴もある。2010年にチームSkyがブラッドリー・ウィギンスを擁して初めてツール・ド・フランスを制覇したが、その翌年の2011年からずっと今までチームSky/イネオスに所属してきた。
なお、引退後もチームイネオスで働き、選手とは異なる新しい役割を担うもよう。監督になるのかコーチになるのか、それとも幅広くマネージメントに携わるのかなど詳細は明かされていないが、これまでアシストとしてチームを支えてきたベテランは、今後もチームを影から支え続けることになっている。
